Emilie in Transit
My story

Hi, I’m Emilie.

Hi, I’m Emilie Eiden, a flight attendant, writer, and the woman behind Emilie in Transit.

I’m based in the Pacific Northwest, happiest near the water, and always up for a good story over coffee. I’m also sober, a recovering people-pleaser, and learning how to build a life that feels like my own.

For more than a decade, my work as a flight attendant has taken me to new places and introduced me to people with all kinds of stories. Here, I’m sharing mine.

My dad lived with multiple sclerosis for years and later developed esophageal cancer. I lost him in my twenties. In 2024, I went through a divorce, and less than four months later, my former husband died. I found myself navigating a kind of grief that didn’t fit neatly into a title, while trying to understand who I was becoming.

Emilie in Transit grew out of that ongoing experience of starting over. It’s where I share travel, flight attendant life, sobriety, dating after loss, and the everyday work of rebuilding. That includes the vulnerability of opening my heart again and the awkward dating stories that apparently come with it.

There’s room here for the hard conversations, adventures with my mom, solo trips, and the moments so ridiculous you have to laugh.

I’m currently writing my memoir and sharing my life as it unfolds. I’m still figuring things out, finding joy, and making memories I’m grateful I didn’t miss.

If you’re finding your footing after life took an unexpected turn, I hope you find something here that makes you feel understood and a little more willing to see what comes next.
